DeVeata Williams-Pough aka LadyVee DaPoet is the founder of LadyVee Productions (a live entertainment entity) and an advocate for quality creative expression.
Born in Augusta, GA and a resident of Atlanta, GA since 2005, LadyVee has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with emphasis on Marketing from Augusta State University. For over 10 years, she was the stage coordinator for the Troubadour Performance Artist Stage at the Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival. She is a spoken word artist who has featured her poetry at notable venues such as Apache Cafe, the former Java Monkey Speaks, Urban Grind and City Winery-ATL. She has hosted and featured her poetry at open mic variety shows at countless venues nationwide including the former Hodgepodge Coffeehouse, Star Theater-West End, and the Apex Black History Museum.
Currently, while raising her toddler son DJ Voltaire, she is the host and performs her work at the Art Out Loud Open Mic and the Do You Lyric Lounge, both in Atlanta, GA. She loves to collaborate with different creative minds to further the mission of spreading the power of poetry. She is the former PR Manager for The Poetry Business Podcast founded by Christoph Jenkins. She is also the former PR Manager and Stage Manager for Grammy Nominated Queen Sheba's Poetry vs Hip Hop live production based at City Winery and various venues nationwide.
LadyVee DaPoet has five poetry collections available on Amazon: 'Imagination Overload', 'Clenched Teeth Smiling', 'Still Fabulous: Reclaiming your Inner Goddess after a Break Up', 'Inkblots on I-20', and 'Eff the Pandemic: Let's Have a Baby!'. Each poetry collection reflects life, love, heartache, art, and observations/reflections from the time period in which the book was published. Her hope is that her work is relatable to the human condition to help educate, heal and inspire.
In 2023, LadyVee DaPoet was nominated and won the award for ATL's Hottest Spoken Word Artist. In 2015, she also won the award for Best Event Specialist from Runway Ink Atlanta. She is the co-owner of the Art Out Loud Creative Space/Allen Pough Studio which houses 2 music production recording studios, Allen Pough Apparel (custom t-shirts, hats, etc.) and a livestream conference room for podcast recording and live video.
LadyVee DaPoet's goal is to 'provide stages and microphones to voices that need to be heard'. Even with all the accolades and the crowns she wears, her main task in her poetic career is to provide the resources and platforms for independent artists to bring their message of positive change to the world.
