Ladyship Warship - Detroit’s Northern Swamp Rock duo are performing an intimate, stripped down set.
✨Friday March 13, 2026 (Detroit 313 day!)✨
4pm- 5:30pm
3rd Floor Music Room at Detroit Public Library
FREE!!
Ladyship Warship meld the rolling demonic sludge of Black Sabbath with hints of X and PJ Harvey. Their sound is moody and cool with nods to the blues, alternative and stoner rock.
This Northern Swamp Rock duo (who are also half of Detroit’s Heavy Trance rock band “Warhorses” ) were recipients of the 2022 Detroit Music Award for Outstanding Alt/Indie rock band; and their hauntingly beautiful cover of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds “Higgs Boson Blues” was featured on Nick’s #badseedteevee youtube channel and given a shout out on his Red Hand Files.
You may also recognize Kristin and Eric as guest musicians for legendary “Gang of Four” at their last few Detroit shows, and Kristin was guest vocalist for The Dream Syndicate at their last Grand Rapids show.
From Life in Michigan review: “This is intimate and powerful rock music that eschews the cliques with a straight shot to your rock and roll soul.”

📚🎶🎵The Music Room, located on the third floor of the Detroit Public Library Main Library, was originally envisioned in 1921 as a space for live concerts and performances. The room was designed with a coffered ceiling and double pocket doors for better acoustics and to minimize sound throughout the rest of the library. The Music, Arts and Literature Department is honoring the history of the space by hosting concerts once more!
Join us on Fridays at 4:00 pm for an eclectic selection of musicians and genres, sure to appeal to a wide range of interests and tastes.
According to Cully Sommers, Manager of the Popular Library/Music, Arts, and Literature Departments, “The Friday Concert Series fulfills DPL's mission to be an educational and cultural hub. It gives Detroiters an opportunity to enjoy free music, to engage in new experiences, and to cultivate cultural intelligence. The Music Department celebrates music, musical artists, and music appreciation.”
