KARYN KUHL first received national acclaim for her early bands Gut Bank and Sexpod, growing out of the vibrant Hoboken music scene and the legendary club Maxwell's. (“Gut Bank’s The Dark Ages is one exceptional debut album.” — Robert Palmer, New York Times). Over the past 20 years she has released 10 LP’s,EP’s and singles and performs both as a solo act and leading the Karyn Kuhl Band. Currently at work on a new album, Kuhl released two songs on Dromedary Records No Traces/The Tower in April 2024 ( “Here we find her delivering a strong pair of songs that make one hopeful for an LP. The a-side is a solid confessional rocker while the flip is a darker cinematic trip. Grab this!”- The Big Takeover) The third single "Cat Swamp Road," is out now on all streaming platforms & available for download on karynkuhl.bandcamp.com.( “ We know Karyn Kuhl can howl with the best of them. How divine that she can also create such a powerful experience with a song that barely rises above a whisper.”-The Constant Listener/ jimtestanjsubstack.com) ( “Kuhl’s elegant and hypnotic voice and colorful melodies make her solemn and evocative songs about heartbreak and alienation linger after each listen.”- Cindy Stagoff njarts.net)
JUDY ANN NOCK is the electric sitar playing siren of Hoboken psych rockers psych-O-positive and is also a member of the critically acclaimed punk americana band St. Divine. She has also been a backup singer for culturally significant artists in the New York and New Jersey punk scenes such as Ivan Julian and Karyn Kuhl. In addition to being an independent musician, Nock is a metalsmith and an international best selling author of The Modern Witchcraft series, published by Simon & Schuster. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and are enjoyed throughout the world. She is best known for bringing modern witchcraft to the center of pop culture and high culture through a long running series of book signings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Met Cloisters as well as public appearances at San Diego Comic-Con International, New York ComicCon and other festivals and conferences across the USA. She has been featured on numerous podcasts and in various media outlets including The Big Takeover, The New York Times, Country Living Magazine, Publishers Weekly, Yahoo Entertainment, Popverse, Refinery 29, and The Guardian UK. She lives in New York City with her daughter and her cat, Annabelle.
DEBBY SCHWARTZ has been performing/writing since 1981, drawing inspiration from the best of many worlds, from Stockhausen to Messiaen, from Joan Baez to Led Zeppelin, from Joni Mitchell to the X-Ray Spex. Her acoustic release A Garden of My Own (produced by Ivan Julian) channels her folk influences (think Bert Jansch, Nick Drake, or Neil Young). In the 80’s she participated in an avant garde theater group called The Summit Ensemble. She went on to become the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the all-female rock band The Aquanettas, which toured the US and UK in the '90s. In the latter part of that decade, her friendship with Joan Osbourne led to a solo rock album, Wrongs of Passage released on Mercury Records (produced by James Mastro). In the 2000s she was the bassist and backing vocalist for the British folk influenced P.G. Six Band. She has been a memberof Joe McGinty’s Loser’s Lounge since the early 90s and is currently bassist/vocalist in the band psych-O-positive.
