Ever wanted to explore Dartmoor off path?
Do you want to gain confidence going solo hiking or take freinds out and explore places where you haven't been before?
Come along and learn how to use a map and compass..
A enjoyable day exploring around Blackaton cross starting at the car park with like-minded ladies.
As you explore this area you will learn,
How to read and interpret the map, using ground features and understanding the symbols.
Setting the map, orientate the map to match the ground and vice versa.
Pacing and timing, important for planning and plotting your journey.
Contours a simple non technical understanding of shapes of land formation and ascent/ decent.
Learn how the compas works, points of compass and uses.
Understanding a simple three stage technique that will have you navigating very quickly and with practice will become second nature.
You will also learn navigation techniques and terminology easily broken down into steps to help you to become a more efficient navigatior.
The day is a relaxed freindly no pressure environment, fully supportive qualified patient instructor.
5 Spaces available mums and daughters welcome.
