🌟 About the Speaker – Yasmin Turk, PhD
Yasmin Turk is the Planning Manager for the City of Pflugerville and a passionate advocate for building healthy communities. A first-generation college graduate who went from a GED to a PhD, Yasmin’s journey reflects resilience, service, and social justice.
Her career spans social service, policy, communications, and teaching, always centered on how people shape—and are shaped by—the places they live.
A natural storyteller, Yasmin blends lived experience with professional insight, drawing from her years balancing school, motherhood, caregiving, and leadership. She serves on the board of IAP2, contributes to local nonprofits, and co-founded a Muslim women’s giving circle.
Her story is one of persistence, purpose, and finding meaning on a non-linear path. 🌿
