A little bit about Dean Phillips and why he is running for President:

Upon finding his daughters in tears the morning after Donald Trump was elected President in 2016, Dean promised them he’d do something. He ran for Congress in Minnesota’s 3rd District, flipping the district by 11 points as the first Democrat to win the suburban Minneapolis district in 60 years.

In Congress, Dean has focused on restoring Americans' faith in our government. Named the 2nd most bipartisan member of Congress, he has worked hard to inspire a new era of collaboration in Washington, pursue common ground for the common good, and end the corrupting influence of special interest money in our politics.

Born in St. Paul and raised in Minneapolis, Dean Phillips is a Gold Star Son who lost his birth father, Artie, in the Vietnam War. He was adopted into the Phillips family when his mother DeeDee married Eddie Phillips, who raised Dean to work hard and always share success.After earning his MBA and gaining experience at a startup, he worked his way up and eventually led his family's business, Phillips Distilling. He later went on to help build Talenti Gelato into one of the top-selling ice cream brands in the country.

Dean and his wife, Annalise, live in Plymouth, Minnesota with their dogs Henry and Sophie. Dean has two adult daughters, Daniela and Pia.

Prominent Democratic strategists like James Carville, David Axelrod, and others agree that the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris ticket is increasingly likely to lose to Donald Trump in 2024.

Biden is currently losing to Donald Trump in five of the six battleground states (Times/Siena).The same poll indicates that an “unnamed Democratic candidate” would turn Biden’s four- point deficit against Trump into an eight-point Democratic lead, 48% to 40%.

Dean surged to 15% in the New Hampshire Democratic Primary just 14 days after entering the race (Emerson).

Both Biden and Harris are facing some of the lowest approval figures in presidential history, hovering around 37% and 33% respectively.
