Labour of Love – A Community Arts and Music Celebration
Join the Durham Region Labour Council this Labour Day for a community celebration of music, art, solidarity, and Oshawa's proud labour history.
Taking place at Memorial Park in Oshawa, Labour of Love will bring together workers, families, artists, musicians, and community members for an afternoon of live music, family-friendly activities, food, and community connection. The event will feature a live performance by acclaimed Canadian musician BA Johnston, joined by local musicians Postman Dan and PLZ Respond, showcasing some of our region's own musical talent.
Visitors can also enjoy hands-on community art activities hosted by the LivingRoom Community Art Studio, along with face painting, balloon art, hot dogs, an ice cream truck, and plenty of fun for the whole family.
Labour Day has long been a time to come together to celebrate workers, community, and the power of collective action. In a city shaped by labour, Labour of Love is a chance to gather, connect, and celebrate the workers who built our communities.
