About this Event
La table du vigneron - Caterina e Riccardo - Agricola Burzi in barolo- Cascina delle Rose in Barbaresco.
A unique experience: an all-Piedmontese dinner featuring the wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. Two young winemakers, united by the same passion yet divided by a magnificent territory. Only 8 seats available to taste the "cru" wines from both wineries and some rare, hard-to-find bottles.
Alberto and Caterina Burzi's deep passion for wine and the land where they were born led start a winemaking journey in La Morra, at the heart of the Barolo region. Returning to the roots of his family and following in the footsteps of his grandparents, he now cultivates historic vineyards in some of the most prestigious crus of Barolo. The goal of Alberto and his sister Caterina is to create wines that best capture the connection between the land and the grape variety, where elegance prevails over the power of tannins. For them, crafting a great wine is the result of many small attentions, respecting nature to the fullest, caring for the vineyard, and managing the cellar with dedication. The Burzi family's aim is to offer their customers, when they drink a glass of Barolo, a wine that truly embodies and speaks of Barolo, of the Langhe, and of La Morra.
Cascina delle Rose is located in the Valle del Rio Sordo in Barbaresco. This 5.5-hectare estate is run by Giovanna Rizzolio and Italo Sorbino, along with their sons Riccardo and Davide. As the name suggests, roses are ever-present on the estate and throughout the vineyards. Family-run since 1948, it wasn't until Giovanna took over in 1992 that they began bottling and selling under the label Cascina delle Rose. The estate is situated in the Rio Sordo subzone and extends into the highest part of Tre Stelle, an area characterized by densely layered and diverse soils: from blue marl (tuff) to limestone-rich soils, where the significant mineral content contributes to wines of great character and finesse.
Respect for nature in both the vineyards and the cellar results in wines that are deeply connected to the land. Tradition and elegance are the two key principles of the estate’s philosophy.
