About this Event
Join us for a conversation about writing, reading, and teaching; about the relationship between text and image as reflected in Snapshots: An Album of Essay and Image Bloomsbury, Feb 2025), which features 36 writers, each of whom has used a photograph from their personal archive to inspire a short essay.
Dinah Lenney is author or editor of six books, including Snapshots, The Object Parade (Counterpoint, 2014), and Coffee (Bloomsbury, 2020).
The Institute’s co-director and USC Professor of English David L. Ulin is editor of the journal Air/Light.. He is the author or editor of nearly 20 books, including the novel Thirteen Question Method; Sidewalking: Coming to Terms with Los Angeles, shortlisted for the PEN/Diamonstein?Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay, and Writing Los Angeles: A Literary Anthology, which won a California Book Award... The Los Angeles Institute for the Humanities is sponsored by the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Science at the University of Southern California, which contributes to office and meeting rooms and generously underwrites a portion of the Institute’s annual budget
