LA Documenters Open House

Are you interested in attending public meetings, documenting them for the public, and collaborating with journalists—all while getting paid? This open house might be for you.

We are getting ready to launch Documenters in Los Angeles. To start, we are hosting this event in partnership with Picaresca Barra de Cafe for folks interested in learning more about this work, how to get involved, and network with like-minded individuals.

It's open to anyone who is interested in civic engagement, contributing to journalism, or simply being curious.

The Documenters Network was created in 2018 by City Bureau, a nonprofit civic journalism lab that goes beyond informing the public. We focus on equipping people to access and produce the information they need. We make our work, process and tools as open and useful as possible.

Documenters.org centralizes public meeting dates, times, locations, official records and original documentation at the city, county, and state-level in one searchable location.

Documenters is now available in 25 cities across the U.S.
