La Defensa Del Pueblo: A summit to end the terror against the people
About this Event
La Defensa del Pueblo will convene immigrant rights activists, faith leaders, labor unions, community organizations, civil rights advocates, legal workers, and all people committed to defending democratic rights and civil liberties in a moment of deepening political crisis in our country. Under the Trump administration, we are witnessing an intensified assault on civil liberties against immigrant communities, freedom of speech, the right to protest, labor organizing, public education, due process, and other rights that generations of people fought to secure.
In response to this escalation, we immigrants, unionists, activists, grassroots organizations and progressive people of the United States are calling for La Defensa del Pueblo: A Summit to End the Terror Against the People to unite diverse sectors of society in defense of civil liberties, democratic rights, immigrant communities, and all people targeted by policies of repression and exclusion.
