Kym Warner has quite a background in Americana style music playing ‘newgrass’ a modern version of bluegrass.
With career achievements including
- Four-time Australian Mandolin Champion
- Three time GRAMMY nominee
- A #1 Billboard Bluegrass Album,
- An Americana Award for ‘Best New Artist’
- Support on a 31 date national tour with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson.
- Australian tours with Kasey Chambers, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, Gina Jeffreys, Darren Coggin, Adam Harvey and Tania Kernaghan.
As a founding member of the progressive acoustic band The Greencards, Kym has toured the US, Europe and Australia extensively, recorded six studio albums, had Robert Earl Keen as a member of his touring and studio band, given numerous performances at The Mother Church of Country Music, The Ryman in Nashville, as well as Red Rocks and the famed Carnegie Hall in NYC.
After spending the past 21 years performing and living in the U.S Kym is back in Australia playing with George Klironomos on Guitar and Jamie Harrison on Bass.
The SWC gig will be supported by Meanwhile Back At The Ranch who describe their music as Cactus Swing! It’s Hillbilly Jazz and Western Swing from the 1930s to the 1950’s, containing such elements as New Orleans Jazz, traditional fiddle and Western tunes, 1930s swing, 1920s blues and a helping of hillbilly boogie.
