Kyiv City Ballet is on its first-ever American tour encompassing 15 cities from around the country, including an exclusive four-day residency in Montgomery and Opelika. The tour has been critically acclaimed with full houses and standing ovations nightly.The New York Times cheered, “Critic’s Pick! Resilience Takes The Stage,” and The Chicago Sun-Times applauded, “The Kyiv City Ballet brings youthful zest. With plans to tour France with its new production of "The Nutcracker", Kyiv City Ballet landed in Paris on February 23 on one of the last flights out, just hours before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Even now, this brave and resolute company of young dancers has not yet been able to return home.
“We are honored to share the beauty of ballet with US audiences, through Ukrainian artists,” said Ivan Kozlov, Artistic Director. “Touring the States for the first time with a range of ballets makes an important global statement. It demonstrates the resilience of the Ukrainian people.”.
