Christine Kwon and Daniel W.K. Lee celebrate the release of Kwon's debut collection A RIBBON THE MOST PERFECT BLUE at the country's first bookstore owned by an Asian American woman! Join us as we read works that traverse both New York and New Orleans, where both authors have resided and reside now.
Christine Kwon is a Korean American poet and fiction writer from Queens, New York. Her forthcoming debut poetry collection, A Ribbon the Most Perfect Blue (Southeast Missouri State University Press, March 2023), won the Cowles Poetry Book Prize. Her work has appeared or is imminent in The Recluse (The Poetry Project), Joyland Magazine, The Columbia Review, The Harvard Advocate, Copper Nickel, The Xavier Review, Hot Pink Mag and Annulet. Daniel W.K. Lee is the author of the Anatomy of Want, published in November 2019 by Rebel Satori Press’ Queer Mojo imprint. A third-generation refugee of Cantonese background, he was born in Kuching, Malaysia, raised in Chicagoland, and grew the fuck up in New York City. He embraced the outdoors in Seattle, and now resides in New Orleans with is his whippet Camden. He earned his MFA in Creative Writing at The New School and has been widely published in online and print publications, including the Lambda Literary Award-nominated anthology Take Out: Queer Writing from Asian Pacific America, the Lambda Literary Award-winning anthology I Do/I Don’t: Queers on Marriage, and most recently The New York Times, Last Leaves, Tilted House Review and the forthcoming issue of Xavier Review, Queer Aesthetics, and Ireland’s The Poetry Bus.
