This year, the powerful duo of 𝐊𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐆 and 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐬 will take the stage at Lazybones for a night dedicated to sisterhood, sistership, and sisterness. As they prepare for the tour of Nancy's original play, Ma’p Boule—hitting stages across NSW, A.C.T., and W.A.—this event offers a unique opportunity to connect with these multidisciplinary artists.
𝐊𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐆 stands as an Afro-Australian icon—a hip hop artist, MC/Host and community advocate whose commitment to her artistry is matched only by her dedication to uplifting fellow artists. Her performances are often described as “consciousness-raising,” showcasing her versatility both in music with AfromBollo band, and in theatre through her impactful roles in Urban Theatre Projects & cultural curator on Send For Nellie by award-winning playwright Alana Valentine.
𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐬 brings her own rich tapestry of experiences from stage, television, and film. With notable roles across various productions—from Belvoir’s Sami In Paradise to Netflix’s 600 Bottles of Wine—she has carved out a space for herself as a multifaceted performer. Her debut solo show, Ma’p Boule, which premiered in December 2022, reflects her journey through art while inviting audiences into her world.
Together, Kween G and Nancy Denis will share their original songs and collaborations backed by a live band that will provide the soundtrack to their stories. This evening promises not just entertainment but also connection—a chance for everyone to come together in celebration of women's strength and creativity.
