Kwanzaa By The River

Join us at District Live inside Plant Riverside District for a free community celebration of Kwanzaa led by master storyteller Lillian Grant-Baptiste. This special gathering honors the rich traditions of African heritage and African American culture through the seven principles of Kwanzaa, known as the Nguzo Saba: unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
Through cultural storytelling, education, and shared experiences, guests will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Kwanzaa’s history, significance, and receiving the message of community, connection, and cultural pride. This meaningful celebration invites individuals and families to come together to reflect on the values that strengthen our communities, honor the contributions of generations past, and inspire future generations.
