Join us for a festival celebrating Kunama music, culture, and the arts!The Kunama Cultural Festival is presented in partnership with Kobabala Farda Kunamasi. Schedule of the evening:
- 6:00 p.m. Welcome
- 6:10 p.m. Drumming and Dance Demonstration
- 6:30 p.m. Fashion Show
- 7:00 p.m. Opening Act Siyaba and Nimena Bands
- 7:45 p.m. Headliner Faytinga
About the headliner: Faytinga composes her own songs and also interprets work from well-known poets and composers from Eritrea. She comes from the Kunama people, one of Eritrea’s many tribes where women and men have equal rights. When singing, she plays the krar, a small lyre. An accomplished and elegant dancer as well as talented singer, she became a leading figure and source of inspiration to her country.
