Kumbartcho is a council owned Flora & Fauna Sanctuary that adjoins the South Pine River at Eatons Hill. There are remnants of riverine rainforest next to the river that existed when European Settlers first came to the area. In the past 15 years a group of South Pine River Warriors have planted approximately 140,000 trees and other plants making this reserve the perfect habitat for what now has a wonderful list of 185 species of birds over the past 30yrs – per eBird.The track along the river is an easy walk of approximately 1.5kms (each way) after walking down a set of stairs from the carparks and dam. The walk will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours dependant on our pace. Meet at the 2nd car park
