KU Opera presents Gian Carlo Menotti’s one-act comedic opera The Old Maid and the Thief, a poignant, yet absurd story about how far people will go for love.
In a small American town, the prim and elderly Miss Todd and her young maid Laetitia both fall for a charming wandering stranger. When the town gossip raises the alarms about an escaped convict, the women go to surprising lengths to protect him, and their chance at love.
Performances:
Sunday, November 8, at 3 p.m.
Monday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m.
Baustina Theater. SOM Students/Faculty/Staff get in free.
