About this Event

KRAMPUS COMES TO FREDERICK
A happy hour, a walk down Carroll Creek behind the Baltimore Krampus, and a screening of the horror movie Krampus at Steinhardt Brewery. Friday, December 4. $20 per person. Part of every ticket goes to the Frederick Community Fridge, and we're collecting toys for Toys for Tots all night.
Krampusnacht is December 5th. That's the night the horned, hooved, chain-rattling half of the St. Nicholas operation makes his rounds, birch switches in hand and a basket on his back for anyone who landed on the wrong list. Frederick gets him a day early.
5:30 PM- Happy hour at Frederick Social
Get a drink, drop a toy in the bin, and get a good look at what you're about to follow down the creek.
6:30 PM -The Krampuslauf
The Baltimore Krampus leads the walk along Carroll Creek from Frederick Social to Steinhardt Brewery. In the Alps, a Krampuslauf is a Krampus run: packs of costumed Krampusses tearing through town, ringing bells and rattling chains. Ours is at walking pace. Costumes, horns, bells, and fur are encouraged. A coat is also fine.

8:00 PM- Krampus on the Big Screen at Steinhardt Brewery
The 2015 horror-comedy, rated PG-13, is screening eleven years to the day after it hit theaters. A family's miserable Christmas summons the ancient shadow of St. Nicholas, and he doesn't come alone. Vendors on site. Yes, Krampus will be at Krampus.
THE IMPORTANT BITS..
Your $20 Ticket Fee: part goes to the Frederick Community Fridge & Outreach; the rest pays for the license to screen the movie. Krampus works for free. Universal doesn't.

TOY DONATION..
Bring a new, unwrapped toy to either venue. Bins at Frederick Social and at Steinhardt.
PHOTOS WITH THE BALTIMORE KRAMPUS..

A cash or toy donation to Toys for Tots gets you in the picture. Ruin your holiday card for a good cause.

AGES:

All ages welcome.
FAIR WARNING: The movie is PG-13 horror, and the Krampus is a horned demon whose entire job is frightening children, so parents, know your kid.
WHO THIS HELPS..
Toys for Tots is the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve program that has collected new, unwrapped toys every holiday season since 1947. What goes in the bin here stays here: the Frederick County campaign puts thousands of toys in front of a couple thousand local kids every December who otherwise wouldn't have much to open. The Baltimore Krampus is donating his night so those kids get toys instead of a visit.
The Frederick Community Fridge is exactly what it sounds like: a volunteer-run fridge and pantry in downtown Frederick, restocked daily with fresh produce and staples for anyone who needs them. Open 24/7, no forms, no questions. Run by the community, for the community, since 2022.
Come for the beer. Stay for the demon. Bring a toy or get the Switch.
