About this Event
In this month’s Civic Cocktail, we’ll focus on the sports scene in our region, with our newest major sports organization, the Seattle Kraken, and community leaders focused on getting youth and BIPOC community members outside and active. Seattle Kraken staff will speak about their exciting community initiatives and youth involvement with their partner YouthCare. In the second half, we’ll hear inspirational stories about how running empowers girls and BIPOC community members with Alison Mariella Desir, author of Running While Black, and Megan Wolfe, Executive Director of Girls on the Run of Snohomish County.
For those attending in person: We’ll also have a special demonstration for early arrivals that you won’t want to miss!

About Civic Cocktail
Civic Cocktail connects elected and community leaders with the public for lively conversations about important issues facing our region. Whether you’re new to the Pacific Northwest, a self-described “civic nerd,” or looking to meet people engaged in their communities, your evening at this beloved program is sure to be friendly, fun, and fascinating. Civic Cocktail’s welcoming and conversational tone is inspired by our Dialogue Across Differences initiative. We hope you can join in person, where the conversation happens over tasty bites and festive libations, but you can still enjoy the experience wherever you are by watching virtually.
