Korean Art as Collectibles in Collections Abroad
Join us for an engaging event that explores the beauty and significance of Korean art in collections abroad! From traditional paintings to intricate hats, discover how Korean art has become highly sought after by American collectors. Dr. Sunglim Kim, Associate Professor at Dartmouth College, will deliver a lecture titled "When America Met Korea: Institutions, Agents, and Artifacts." Dr. Jinyoung Jin, Director of Asian Art and Culture at Stony Brook University’s Charles B. Wang Center, will present on "Crafting Modernity: Korean Men's Hats." The lectures will be followed by a tour of the museum.
This event is organized by the University of Mary Washington.
