Kopi and Draw - April 2026

This is a monthly gathering for artists and creative enthusiasts to come together, draw, share ideas, and build a supportive community.

Kopi & Draw is a casual monthly gathering for artists, illustrators, comic creators, and anyone who enjoys drawing. We meet up during the day, grab a kopi or snack, and spend a few hours sketching, chatting, and sharing ideas.

This meetup is open to all skill levels. You don’t need formal training or technical ability—just a willingness to sit down, draw, and enjoy the process. Some people will be practicing observational drawing, some might be working on personal projects, and others may just want to doodle while meeting fellow creatives.

The goal is simple: create a relaxed, welcoming space where people can draw together.

Each session may include a simple drawing prompt or suggestion to get people started, but you’re always free to draw whatever you like.

Possible options include:
• Sketching the local environment
• Observational drawing of people, food, or surroundings
• Working on personal art projects or comics
• Following the monthly prompt (optional)

There’s no pressure to produce “good” art—this meetup is about practice, curiosity, and enjoying creativity together.

Please bring your own drawing materials such as:

• Sketchbook or paper
• Pens, pencils, markers, or tablets
• Any portable art supplies you enjoy using

If you forget something, that’s okay—there will usually be a few spare pencils and paper available.

Kopi & Draw is intended to be a friendly, respectful, and inclusive environment.

To help keep the space comfortable for everyone:

• Please communicate in English so everyone can participate in conversations.
• Be respectful of others and the venue.
• No discrimination, harassment, racism, or sexism will be tolerated.
• Please avoid political debates or controversial topics—this meetup is about creativity and connection.
• Everyone works at their own pace—no judgement, no pressure.

Many people who attend may be introverted, new to meetups, or simply looking for a calm creative space, so kindness and patience go a long way.

We’ll be meeting in public locations, so please support the local vendors if you can, and especially make sure to clean up after yourself. We want to leave the space better than we found it.

You don’t have to talk the whole time—many people simply enjoy quietly drawing alongside others.

This event is planned as a monthly gathering. As the group grows, we may explore things like:

• Voting on drawing prompts
• Guest artists or mini workshops
• Different sketching locations around Singapore

For now, the focus is simply showing up, drawing, and building a creative community together.

On the day, look for a table with sketchbooks and drawing supplies—that will be us.

Starting something new always feels a little uncertain, but great communities often begin with just a few people around a table.

This month, we'll be meeting at SMU School of Computing and Information Systems 1. There are loads of seating available on the ground floor. Look for a table with sketchbooks and drawing supplies.
