Kool Deadwood Nites 2023

Kool Deadwood Nites 2023 brings car lovers together for five days full of classic cars, classic music and classic fun. It’s a 50’s and 60’s sock hop – Deadwood style. Enjoy a parade, show and shine and FREE concerts on Main Street featuring the biggest names in rock ‘n roll history.

2023 IS THE 29TH ANNIVERSARY OF KOOL DEADWOOD NITES!

INFORMATION

• Your vehicle must be a ’73 or older to register.
• Pre-registration packets will be mailed mid-May 2023. Last year’s registered cars will automatically receive a packet. If you would like to be added to this list, please call 605-578-1876.
• Car registration cost: $80 before August 1st; $100 after August 1
• Registration for 2023 Kool Deadwood Nites will be held throughout the event at the Deadwood’s Welcome Center! 501 Main Street, Deadwood, S.D. 57732.
• Kool Deadwood Nites registered cars ONLY will have a section of the Lower Main Street parking lot (location of the new Welcome Center, where registration will be held) Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 24-26, 2023. Of course, registrants can continue to park throughout the event at the History and Information Center too.
• UPDATE: consignments for the Kool Deadwood Nites Classic Car and Memorabilia Auction are FULL. For more information or to add your car to the wait list, contact McPherson Auction & Realty at 605-484-1781 or 605-381-1594.
• The City of Deadwood Police Department asks that you please refrain from doing Burn-Outs during the parade on Sunday.
• The Main Street Entertainment entertainment has been announced. See the schedule below.
• NEW in 2023, driving poker runs on Thursday, walking poker runs on Saturday. Poker Run Awards for all routes are still on Saturday.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 23:

• Noon to 8 p.m:  Car Registration at Deadwood Welcome Center, 501 Main Street
• 6 p.m. FREE concert at Outlaw Square – Surfin’ Safari Band

THURSDAY, AUGUST 24:

• 9 a.m. – 8 p.m: Car Registration at Deadwood Welcome Center, 501 Main Street

FRIDAY, AUGUST 25:

• 7 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.: Rod Run Breakfast at The Lodge at Deadwood – Free for registered car owner’s only,three shifts available, pick your time at Registration, first come, first served.
• 7 a.m. – 8 p.m: Car Registration at Deadwood Welcome Center, 501 Main Street
• 9 a.m: Classic Car Auction – Held in the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center. • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m: 15th Annual Rod Run – Two options (departing from the Days of ’76 Rodeo Grounds), choose from an escorted tour through Spearfish or Vanocker Canyon. Vanocker itinerary includes time at the Sturgis Dragway running the track, sponsored by NAPA. The Spearfish Canyon route includes a final stop at Carsten’s Cottages. They will have food and drinks available when you arrive. Both Rod Runs leave from the Days of ‘76 Rodeo Grounds at 10:00 a.m. and lineup begins at 9:00 a.m.
• FREE Main Street Concerts – SixtiesMania at 8 p.m.; Kid & Nic Show at 6:15 p.m.; Tie Dye Volcano at 5 p.m.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 26:

• 8 a.m. – Noon: Classic Car Competition/Judging at the Days of ’76 Event Complex (Please plan to arrive before 8 a.m.)
• 9 a.m: Classic Car Auction – Held in the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center. SUNDAY, AUGUST 27:

• 7 a.m: Parade Line-up at Ferguson Field/Rodeo Grounds
• 9 a.m: Parade on Historic Main Street and continuing through Central City and Lead
• 10 a.m. – 2 p.m: Show and Shine on Main Street
• 11 a.m: Awards in the parking lot at the History and Information Center and Outlaw Square
