Let’s do life & learn together! If there’s a better time, please let me know. I’m flexible after 3. Also, grandbaby is due so date may have to change depending on her arrival!
Hello friends! Do you like kombucha, want to save money by making it yourself? Or want to dip your toes by just watching while we have some fun sampling? I want to make a way to gather together, share life a bit and learn something new.
The process starts with a “scoby,” it’s like the sourdough starter for kombucha. I will provide the scoby and filtered water! You need to bring a large glass jar. I use one that is 1.5 gallons (+) and has a spigot on the bottom, not necessary but I like that. The recipe is scalable and requires tea leaves (loose or silk bagged is best) and 1 cup raw honey for 1 gallon of kombucha. Bring your own honey and tea or $10. 10 days later you need glass jars or bottles to bottle your delicious, fresh home-brewed kombucha. 🎉😊. Scoby lives on for continual kombucha making and can also be put on hold for months by refrigerating.
Max class size is 8. RSVP and plan to spend 1.5-2 hours in my kitchen. If you click that you are "Going" but we are not Facebook Friends, I cannot see who you are. Please send me a DM or comment to introduce yourself! :-) Exact address off of N. Carpenter Rd. will be given to confirmed guests posted the day of the meeting. You are welcome to invite & bring others. I just have to limit the total to 8 so we must be considerate to allow as many as possible and avoid no shows.
The first class was a grand success with one student! The class can be repeated every 10 days to 3 weeks so long as the scoby is growing well! :-) It's going to be a great time! And if this time doesn't work, there will be another!
