The Koger/Matteson Jazz Festival returns on February 3 for a full day of performances, education, and collaboration. Participating ensembles receive recorded adjudications and a focused 15-minute clinic with members of UNF’s distinguished jazz faculty. At the end of the day, awards recognize outstanding soloists, sections, and the festival’s most exceptional musicians.This year’s featured clinician is Kris Berg, renowned bassist, composer, arranger, and Director of Jazz Studies at Collin College. His charts and artistry are known worldwide, and he brings decades of professional and educational experience to the festival. The event concludes with a performance by the acclaimed UNF Jazz Ensemble.
