? THE LAUNCH OF THE OFFICIAL AUSTIN-KOBLENZ CRAFT BEER, A SPECIAL COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE AUSTIN BEER GARDEN BREWING (ABGB) CO. AND KOBLENZER BRAUEREI

As one of our proud outcomes of the 2022 Delegation to Koblenz, Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. partnered with Koblenz’ most renowned local brewery, Koblenzer, to create a collaborative, Vienna-style Amber lager. Be the first to try it at Koblenz Karneval!

? We’re especially excited to have the Austin Maennerballett Society on stage! As “Dads in Tutus,” the Austin Maennerballett has performed in front of large audiences in Austin and Koblenz to show what international exchanges can inspire: that life is to be fun! We celebrate that truth this year on February 10th and hope that you will be there with us.

? The Austin-Koblenz Sister Cities Committee is committed to creating personal connections between citizens of Austin and Koblenz. The concept of face-to-face meetings and personal relationships across borders, known as citizen diplomacy, doesn’t just change the lives of individuals but also helps communities thrive.

Where is the event and what's the parking situation?

Saengerrunde Hall is located right next to Scholz Garten, 1607 San Jacinto Blvd. Please enter through the San Jacinto entrance. There is street parking and a paid parking garage right across the street.

What the heck is Karneval?

In Austin’s sister city of Koblenz, Germany in the heart of the Rhineland, Karneval is recognized as the “Fifth Season” of the year.  Karneval Season begins in November and continues until Lent begins; however, during the final week, known as “the crazy days,” Koblenz, along with the other towns in the Rhineland, is a place of non-stop revelry with street festivals, parades, costume balls, and parties.  Among all the traditions and rituals associated with Karneval, costumes play a very important role. Many people plan all year to come up with just the right outfit.
