Know Yourself: Living in Community
About this Event
It's easier than ever to be surrounded by people, and harder than ever to actually live together well.
How can we create community with neighbors, strangers, the city we share? What does it mean to be a citizen, not just a resident?
This session looks at community through the lens of timeless wisdom — the kind of thinking that predates our current debates and might offer a way through them. We'll explore questions of belonging, responsibility, and what it takes to build something shared. Classroom-style, with real discussion among people willing to think out loud.
You'll leave with
- Fresh perspectives on belonging, civic life, and how we can find common ground
- Ancient frameworks that reframe modern political fatigue
- A more grounded sense of your own role in the communities you're part of
- Conversations with Cambridge neighbors thinking through the same questions
