We're honored to host a self defense class right here at Safe Space Salon, in collaboration with Elton Faulk!Elton Faulk is a trauma informed BIPOC personal trainer, army veteran, and second-degree black belt dedicated to empowerment and safety. At this seminar, he will introduce you to the basic techniques and principles of self-defense. Everyone has a right to their agency and personal space; this event is about coming together to preserve both.
Now, more than ever, it's important to have skills such as these. Recent events have challenged our safety, autonomy, and power. As a community, we can renew our strength together.
While this is a free event, tips for our amazing instructor Elton are encouraged & will be very much appreciated.
He'll be sharing his time & expertise with us free of charge so that as many folks as possible can access this crucial knowledge & we couldn't be more grateful!!
And as always, we'd love to center queer folks, but all over the age of 5 are welcome!
We do expect a decent turn out for this event, so please make sure that if you have a disability and need special accommodations or assistance during the seminar, you try to arrive early to speak with Elton prior so he can better assist you.
