Know Thyself Through Color

Part of being human involves getting to know yourself, both inwardly and outwardly. By using your own personal birth given color palette of hair, skin, and eyes, we will explore those colors in relationship to you. Getting in touch with this idea and starting to wear items using your own color palette will actually help you feel better seen for you, more visible, and in harmony with what is the natural world.
We will start with a short talk on the theory of color in relationship to the natural world so that you have a better understanding of why using your own colors are essential. We will then spend time doing an art project to help give you experience looking at yourself deeper while creating a collage of assorted color clippings. This exercise will help train your eyes to look for the colors within your own triad of hair, skin, and eyes. Once complete, there will be an opportunity to share a little bit about your experience and take aways, as well as ask any questions you may have and go over next steps.
The intention of this workshop is to connect with community while learning the basic theory behind color and to creatively express yourself through your own visual reference to anchor this philosophy.
