Knit a Lacy Sweater

This course is to learn how to knit a lacy sweater. We will be knitting the Chunky Dahlia sweater from LE KNIT by Lene Holme Samsøe, which is knit from the top down. The project starts with the neck, and works its way down to the waist and then down the sleeves. Photos used with permission from the designer.
There are 5 sessions in alternate weeks and you will learn how to:
- Knit a sweater in the round holding two yarns together
- Do short rows to raise the neck
- Read and follow the lace chart
- Pick up stitches for the sleeves
- Do an Italian cast-off
You’ll have homework in between sessions to get to the next part of the pattern and if you need support between sessions, that support is just a mouse click away!
The pattern is knit on 7-mm needles, so you will see it grow nice and quickly! The knitting kit for the Chunky Dahlia sweater will be available in the shop soon and consists of Sandnes Garn Kos which is an alpaca-based yarn, and Sandnes Garn Silk Mohair. Two sets of round knitting needles (5 mm and 7 mm) and the official pattern are included in the price of the workshop. Or you could upgrade your knitting needles and get an invaluable knitting needle kit available in the shop which is the ideal tool to knit a sweater in the round.
Who for: if you have followed Learn to Knit for Intermediate Level or already know how to knit lace and want to take the next step and put it all together.
