Come along to a free screening of Kneecap: a comedy-drama about and starring the Irish hip hop trio Kneecap 🎤
Over the course of their career, Kneecap have attracted enormous attention for their uncompromising lyrics in both English and Irish about working-class life in Belfast, a united Ireland, and their explicit political views. The Guardian has even gone so far as to call them “the most controversial band in the UK”.
Kneecap have just released their second album, FENIAN 💿
At the screening, you’ll have the chance to buy a Guinness or another lovely drink, as well as crisps, while we dive into Kneecap’s musical universe and their formation as a group in the Northern Irish capital of Belfast.
The film is being shown in connection with the third edition of the literary event BookTalks, where we are delighted to welcome Northern Irish author Michael Magee:

I løbet af deres karriere har Kneecap tiltrukket enorm opmærksomhed med deres kompromisløse tekster på engelsk og irsk om arbejderopvæksten i Belfast, et forenet Irland og deres eksplicitte politiske holdninger. The Guardian går så langt som at kalde dem "the most controversial band in the UK".
