Nelson Freitas is the biggest star from the Cape Verdean diaspora. He began his career with his group, Quatro Plus, and released three albums.

As a solo artist, Nelson Freitas has been at the forefront of blending African and Caribbean influences with R&B. With a career spanning over two decades, he has a long catalogue of hit records including Deeper, Rebound Chick, Muida Linda, Break of Dawn, and Nha Baby to name a few.

KIZOMBA IS FOR LOVERS is a party series that celebrates and centers kizomba and zouk music from several generations throughout the African and Caribbean diaspora.
