PATHWAYS OFFERED: Band, Orchestra & Choir
The Kitsap Summer Music Discovery Camp is a fun and engaging week designed to help beginning musicians start their musical journey with confidence. Students will learn the fundamentals of their instrument or voice while making new friends and experiencing the excitement of making music together.
OPTION 1: Students who will have completed 4th or 5th grade in June 2026, will be starting their first year on an instrument/voice when they enter 5th or 6th grade in fall 2026 (depending on the school district you are in), and are registered for beginning band, orchestra, or choir class for the 2026–2027 school year.
OPTION 2: Students currently in 6th grade who will enter 7th grade in fall 2026, and who will be joining their school’s band, orchestra, or choir as a first year, beginning student (did not play as a 6th grader).
INSTRUMENTS TAUGHT
Trumpet, Trombone, Clarinet, Flute, Alto Sax, Violin, Viola, Cello, and Voice
CAMP INCLUDES
Specific Instrument/Voice Category Instruction
Larger Ensemble Rehearsals (Band, Orchestra, Choir)
Music Theory and Music Fundamentals
Special Concerts/Demonstrations
Team Building Activities
Lunch Each Day
Morning and Afternoon Snacks
Camp T-Shirt and Camp Photo
Final Performance and Celebration for Camp Participants and their Family on Friday
FEE
$300.00 Full – $150.00 School Free and Reduced Lunch Qualification

INSTRUMENT USAGE / RENTAL
Students who already have access to their own instrument in good working condition are encouraged to bring it to camp.
If you need an instrument, you can rent through a local music store. Rentals can usually begin the week before camp and often cover the entire upcoming school year for use in your school band or orchestra class.
If additional assistance is needed, Music Discovery Center will attempt to connect with your future school band or orchestra teacher before the end of the school year to see if a school instrument may be available.
