The Ontario Beach Park Program Committee’s annual Kite Flight brings Rochesterians of all ages and from all walks of life together on the shores of Great Lake Ontario to celebrate the art and joy of kite fl ying. This year’s Kite Flight will be held Sunday, May 3 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Ontario Beach Park. Expert kite flyers will show off their unique colorful creations and amaze the crowd with their skills, and the public will have ample chances to fl y too. Recreation on the Move, the City’s mobile recreation center, will be on hand throughout the day, and City Recreation staff will provide free, kite-building workshops for youth 12 and under.
In addition, performers from Roc City Circus will entertain the whole family with their own amazing aerodynamics and acrobatics, and the Charlotte Community Association’s expert chefs will be grilling hots and serving up other treats, along with kite kits, to support their community work.

Kite Flight is sponsored by Wegmans and presented by the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee with support from Monroe County, the Charlotte Community Association and the City of Rochester. Funding for this project was provided in part by Neighbors in Action (NIA), a joint effort by the City of Rochester, Rochester Area Community Foundation, and ESL Federal Credit Union. NIA offers small grants and support for residents to come together to strengthen their neighborhoods.
The Ontario Beach Park Program Committee (OBPPC) is a Not for Profi t, 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to producing free and low cost family entertainment events in Ontario Beach Park, the Port of Rochester harbor and the lower Genesee river area in Rochester, New York.
