Kitchener Kitab Book Fair

The first edition of the Kitchener Kitab Book Fair 2026 arrives this April during Arab Heritage Month, in collaboration with the Levant Foundation. What began as a simple idea to create more space for the Arabic book beyond major cities has grown into a new yearly gathering for readers, families, publishers, and cultural voices in Kitchener.

This year, the fair carries the line “We must therefore read,” inspired by Edward Said’s call for reading as a path toward awareness, critical thought, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.

Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Victoria Park Pavilion for a full day of books, culture, and community. Visitors can explore a wide selection of Arabic titles from publishers, distributors, and bookstores across Canada and beyond, including fiction, poetry, thought, history, children’s books, and more.

The event will also feature a cultural program with brief talks, poetry moments, and interactive experiences that bring language and literature closer to everyday life. Families and children are at the heart of this vision, making the fair a welcoming space for all ages to discover, connect, and celebrate reading together.
