About the Event
In this class, we will create a frame from flattened sterling wire, create traditional Scandinavian style filigree components, and fill the frame with them to create a pendant. We will talk about how you can use several basic shapes to make complex designs.
Depending on your speed of working, you may also create a matching pair of earrings and learn how to dap them (if desired) for added dimension. You’ll also learn how to make small balls of metal known as granulation, and how to add them to your filigree for decoration and strength.
The class fee includes the materials kit fee. This includes all materials needed to complete the projects (sterling silver filigree wire, sterling silver frame wire, chip solder, finishing products, ear wires, and jump rings) as well as the use of all tools needed, including the torch and some specialized tools. You will leave the class with finished pieces.
