About this Event
A sensory performance by Amy & her quiet experiments x Flowers and Moods
Kissabō Sessions #1
間 The Space Between Sound & Ikebana
A sensory evening of sound and ikebana.
In Japanese, awai (間) refers to the space between things — not emptiness, but a living interval where relationships appear.
Sound exists because of silence.
A flower becomes visible through the space around it.
During the evening, Amy creates an improvised ambient soundscape that shapes the atmosphere of the room.
Natalie responds through ikebana, composing arrangements in real time — branches bending, space opening, flowers appearing as quiet accents.
The work unfolds as a dialogue.
Sound influences gesture; gesture reshapes listening.
Rather than presenting a finished object, the evening reveals a process — a sequence of arrangements emerging one after another, exploring balance between tension and emptiness, presence and pause.
Guests are invited to arrive, settle, and move quietly through the space.
The experience is open and continuous rather than staged as a fixed performance.
After the evening, the ikebana remain in the space, continuing to transform over time.
