Register your interest for Shelter’s Kip in Your Car Corporate Challenge and experience just one night without the comfort of a home. By swapping your bed for your car alongside your colleagues, you’ll help raise vital funds and shine a light on a hidden side of homelessness that often goes unseen.
This flexible challenge is designed with busy teams in mind. You can choose a date that works for your organisation between Sept 26 and Feb 27, making it easy to fit around work schedules while still coming together for a shared purpose. There’s no minimum fundraising target, so get creative in how your team wants to contribute and help make a meaningful difference in our community.
As a charity supporting those experiencing homelessness, we recognise that this challenge touches on experiences of homelessness that are complex and deeply personal. While sleeping in your car for one night cannot replicate the realities faced by people experiencing homelessness, the aim of this challenge is to build understanding, encourage reflection, and raise awareness in a respectful way. We ask all participants to be mindful of language, avoid assumptions, and approach the challenge with empathy and respect for those with lived experience. Don't worry, we will provide the resources you need for your team to approach this opportunity with an open mind to learn more about those experiencing homelessness.
Whether you take part with colleagues, friends or as a wider organisation, it’s a powerful team-building experience that brings people together, sparks important conversations, and builds empathy. Most importantly, you’ll be helping Shelter continue the fight for home.
