On Saturday night the headliner in the town hall is top UK country artist Katy Hurt who achieved a UK iTunes country chart number one with her single “Sounds Good In A Bar”. Katy has won accolades such as the UK Country Music Spotlight Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, Best EP, Best Song and Best Video and has played major festivals such as Country 2 Country at the O2 Arena, Pilton Party on Glastonbury's famed Pyramid Stage and the Isle of Wight festival.
Support on Saturday comes from Rosie H Sullivan, a rising young songwriter from the Isle of Lewis who recently signed a record deal with Canadian label Nettwerk, home of superstar Passenger. Also on the bill is Jim Thornton, best known to Kintyre audiences as the frontman and driving force behind legendary local folk-pop band Follow That Camel who were a big live draw in the area in the late 90s and early 2000s.
The night will also feature several tributes to late local musician Chris Wright who sadly died earlier this year. The Twisted Melons and Craig Bedson will team up to perform some of Chris’ music while Chris’ daughter will also perform with her high energy riot girl punk band Skint Knees.
