About this Event

ntsugi Workshop: Finding Beauty in the Broken

Join us for a unique three-hour Kintsugi experience where creativity, reflection and connection come together in a warm, welcoming space.

Inspired by the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold, Kintsugi invites us to see that our cracks and scars are not something to hide - they are part of our story. Rather than disguising what has been broken, it encourages us to embrace repair, resilience and hope.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll carefully break and repair your own ceramic bowl, creating a meaningful keepsake to take home while reflecting on the beauty that can emerge through life’s challenges.

During this workshop, you will:
  • Break and repair your own ceramic piece using the Kintsugi process
  • Explore themes of resilience, imperfection, healing and hope
  • Take part in gentle guided reflection (sharing is always optional)
  • Enjoy tea, coffee and light refreshments
  • Connect with others in a calm, supportive and welcoming environment

No artistic experience is needed - just curiosity and an open mind.

Previous participants described the workshop as:

“A very beautiful experience.”
“Such a meaningful experience.”
“This is what our society needs. We need more opportunities to be together in community.”

Every participant in our previous workshop rated the experience as Excellent, with 100% saying they left feeling inspired to engage in more creative and wellbeing activities, and every participant reporting they felt more connected to others.

Whether you’re looking for a mindful afternoon, a creative experience, or simply some time to slow down and reconnect, this workshop offers a chance to pause, reflect, and discover that there can be beauty in repair.

Venue: Olive Tree House, Belfast
Duration: 3 hours
Includes: All materials, refreshments, and your finished Kintsugi piece to take home.

Please note: This is a gentle wellbeing workshop rather than a traditional art class. While themes of resilience, healing and personal growth are explored, there is never any expectation to share personal experiences unless you choose to.
