KINGS IN THE MAKING: Ancestral Intelligence (AI) Lab

KINGS IN THE MAKING: Ancestral Intelligence (AI) Lab is a one-of-a-kind creative experience where Black boys ages 10–18 explore identity, self-expression, and ancestral wisdom using emerging AI tools. Hosted at the KOOLabs Design Center and Production House in Oakland, this 4-hour hands-on lab blends technology, storytelling, and cultural pride in a space designed for curiosity, creativity, and connection.

Participants will dive into interactive activities led by Black creatives and educators, using tools like ChatGPT, generative art platforms, music-making software, and storytelling prompts rooted in African diasporic traditions. Through this experience, youth will build new skills, express their ideas, and explore how the past can power the future, all while creating something of their own to take home.
