The 78th King and Queen of Mt Maunganui, now with a walking event, more prize money, more spot prizes, and a school's prize - the 2025 event is not to be missed!The race starts on the Mount Main Beach opposite Mt Drury, runners run along the beach, up the main Mt Track up the Eastern side to the summit of Mauao then descend and back along the beach.
Trophies, a pair of Merrell Shoes and cash prize money for 1st, $$ for 2nd and 3rd place getters.
Race starts at 11am $40 entry fee $60 on the day
Juniors
For ages 15 and under (as at 31 Dec 2025)
Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in both under 16 and under 12, as well as spot prizes. Medals for all finishes
Race starts on the Main Mt Beach, opposite Mt Drury, runners run along Mt Main Beach up Mauao to the first gate on the Eastern face, (just before the track forks to the Oruahine Track) and return back along the main Beach to the finish.
Race starts at 10.30am $20 entry fee or $35 on the day.
