For the 15th time, GhanaFest brings its annual public installation and celebration of Ghanaian culture and heritage to residents of and visitors to New York City. This year’s event is headlined by King Promise, the Accra-born artist who’s quickly become one of the most sought-after names in highlife and Afrobeats music. Of late he’s drawn inspiration from Ghanaian drill, the South African Amapiano scene, and British artists such as NSG and Headie One. His latest LP 5 Star finds him ruminating on what he finds most important: family, life, and love. He’s joined by the nascent Bronx Afrobeats singer Dan Price the Artist and DJ Faddah.
