Kimekomi is a unique art form that combines the painterly quality of Impressionism with the warmth of intricate quilting. Each piece is made using fabric tucked into a foam board; no sewing is involved. I teach the basics of this unique art, including the fundamentals of design, selecting the right fabric, and tucking techniques. The cost for this class is $50. **Materials and tools are provided, including beginner-friendly patterns, an 8-inch square foam board, scissors, knives, and fabric. I encourage students to bring their favorite fabric or their favorite sewing scissors if they desire, but it is not necessary. I also encourage students to bring snacks and water. Students enjoy the meditative nature of this art and the friendly conversations that arise in class.
