Kim Jorgensen Art Exhibit August 1-September 30, 2026 Reception: August 9, 3-5 pm On view in the Grand Hallway “I have been painting for more than ten years, working primarily in acrylic and mixed media. Largely self-taught, I have been drawn to color, texture, and the ways visual art can communicate ideas and stories. My love of making things began in childhood through fiber arts, needlework. Those early experiences continue to influence my interest in layering, texture, and surface. Faith and art history have been the sources of inspiration throughout my life. For eight years I taught ancient, medieval, and church history, often using art to illuminate the people, ideas, and beliefs that shaped the world. As I continue to teach Bible stories, visual imagery and historical context remain important tools for understanding and communication. I am drawn to the places where light, both literally and metaphorically, breaks through - whether in history, faith, nature, or the layered surface of a painting. My work explores themes of light, beauty, restoration, and hope through color, texture, and gestures.”
