Movie info:
Curse of the Living Corpse (1964) is a low-budget American Gothic horror film directed by Del Tenney. It mixes period-piece melodrama with supernatural slasher elements.
Set in New England in 1892, The Curse of the Living Corpse begins after the death of wealthy, tyrannical Rufus Sinclair. In his will, he leaves strict instructions for his family to follow concerning his burial—he has a pathological fear of being buried alive. The conditions include leaving his body unembalmed for a year, guarding his tomb, and ensuring that he is interred with certain personal effects.
When his family members ignore or resist these unsettling demands, they begin dying one by one under mysterious and gruesome circumstances. Each death seems to correspond directly to the punishments Rufus had threatened in his will. The surviving relatives are left to wonder: has Rufus returned from the grave to carry out his revenge, or is someone among them using the legend of his curse as cover for murder?
