Kiku Listening Sessions: Alice Coltrane "A Monastic Trio"
About this Event
We're glad you're coming.
Kiku is presented in collaboration between 915 Dupont and on.rcrd and built around something we don't get enough of anymore.
One part sound experience. One part deep listening. One part community of people who decided, at least for one evening, to slow down and come back to something real.
The tradition we're drawing from is the Japanese kissa — listening bars where people gathered in intentional silence to hear a record the way it was meant to be heard. No scroll. No distraction. Just a needle, a room, and the kind of attention that changes how music lands.
What we ask of you:
Come curious. Come open. When the record starts, pay less attention to your phone and more attention to the notes. Notice what happens to the music when you give it your full attention. Notice what happens to you.
A few things to know before Tuesday:
Your reservation seating is your entry time. Please arrive close to your 6 PM or 8 PM seating so you're settled before the needle drops.
The address is 915 Dupont St., tucked inside a warehouse near Ossington. Look for the noren (Japanese fabric divider) at the entrance.
If you arrive hungry, the kitchen is open. Izakaya-style small plates, seasonal cocktails leaning into Japanese whisky, yuzu, and oolong. Come a little early and let the space do its thing.
Stay in the loop between sessions:
Follow @on.rcrd on Instagram for the stories behind the records. Each Kiku session is rooted in that same thread. The artist. The moment. The context that makes a great album mean more.
We'll see you Tuesday.
Rhythm. Stories. Culture.
