The main features of the hike include:
-Roadtrip with great company from Nairobi to Gatundu North and back
-This hike is unique in that it offers one of the most scenic road trips in central Kenya as a bonus
-We head out in the morning towards Thika before branching off to a beautiful meandering road with tea farms towards the Aberdares
-Kieni Forest forms part of the extensive Kikuyu escarpment forest lying east of the Rift Valley at approximately 2,150 - 2,700m ASL
-Despite its close proximity to Nairobi it remains one of Kenya's best kept secrets
-We start the hike at a Community resource centre from where the trail heads into lush tea plantations before descending into the well conserved indigenous forest
-The hike leads you deeper to a water pipe that then takes you to the Kariminu River with its two tall cascading falls
-After a short relaxation head out again across the forest to the final smaller waterfall before coming out of the tea plantation and back to start point
-Hiking with a great team where you can make friends and business networks
