*Pre-registration is required for this event*East Tennessee is home to seven species of woodpeckers. For this program, we will hike the Hickory Ridge Trail where you are most likely to see each of them and learn what to look for when identifying woodpeckers. We will also discuss the special adaptations and behaviors that make them unique. If we're lucky, we will see all seven woodpeckers plus many other birds!
Please meet at the Bluebird Barn by 9:00AM. Come prepared for the weather and ready to walk around 1.5 miles on steep terrain. Bring water, binoculars*, and good hiking shoes. Some binoculars will be available to loan in limited supply.
